What is Life Coaching?

Life Coaching focuses on the present and future by helping you think-through your ideas and goals, sharpening your curiosity, and becoming more self-aware of your own thinking, emotional, and behavioral patterns.

In addition to regular individual Life Coaching sessions, I also offer the following set of Coaching Series focusing on specific concerns. *

Personal Life Check-Up - Just like going to the doctor for an annual check-up that reviews your physical wellness, so we also need a “Life Check-up” from time to time. In five scheduled sessions I will help you examine your current personal life wellness by looking at your family relationships, personal relationships, physical activity, financial wellness, your spiritual life, your emotional wellbeing, and other things you may wish to discuss. A Life Check-up can help you see where you are in balance or out of balance. It can help you establish new goals to bring more wellbeing into your life.

Stress and Anxiety Management - Everyone experiences stress and anxiety from time to time, but sometimes we can feel overwhelmed by the anxiety brought on by life’s stressors. As children, we learn how to take care of our physical needs, like brushing our teeth each day and taking a bath. However, we are rarely taught how to take care of our emotional life and well-being. In a seven meeting series, I will work with you to identify the stressors you feel and ways to manage your anxiety through establishing both physical and mental good habits.

Life Management Skills - Do you ever feel that you missed the memo about how to organize your life in such a way that you feel you have some control of things? Or, things were going well until a series of life events threw you off balance? In a six session series I will work with you to help establish your goals and develop new mental habits to help you achieve those goals.

Growing Through Grief and Loss - The longer you live the more you experience the loss of loved ones, or the loss of dreams, or the loss of your self-identity. Everyone grieves, and everyone grieves in their own way and in their own time. Grief work is very personal work. Grief can feel like depression, sometimes. But grief also helps us to grow, to become more wise and more caring about our lives and others in the present. In a six session series I will walk the journey of grief with you, educating you about the various kinds and dimensions of grieving, and allowing you to gain the life-wisdom that is the gift grief wants to give you.

Custom Programs - I will work with you on the specific concerns or needs you may have, by designing a special series of sessions to meet your exact needs.  

Group Presentations - I am available for half-day and full-day presentations for groups, or to lead two or three-day retreats for groups. Topics include: “The Manager as Coach;” “Growing in personal agency;” “Mindfulness and growth of the human soul;” “Building personal resilience of mind, heart, and body;” and “Personal loss and resilience.”
